COLOURED PENCILS ONE
A COLLECTION OF ‘OLDER’ PICTURES IN COLOURED PENCIL
Hopefully you will be able to see a sign of progress between these and the later examples !!
This was the first version of
A pre christmas scene in Bath
This was the second version of
A scene in the Castle Museum, York
I called this one
‘Running for Home’
Graphite and CP
A commissioned picture
I don’t ‘do’ dogs usually
A Picture of Porlock Weir, Somerset.
This is it’s original finishing state in 2005.
I looked at it again in 2010,
sitting on the wall in my studio
and ‘Refreshed’ some of the working.
I looked ay it again in 2015 and had yet another working over the surface.
It is amazing what you learn in 10 years !
It is also an indication of how tolerant Coloured Pencil is to being attacked at 5 year intervals
I wonder what 2020 will bring ?
A Picture of a cottage at Selworthy, Somerset
This was a first attempt at using coloured pencils over an underpainting in black ink
A bridge near Mary Tavy in Devon.
Completed on the spot with watercoloiur pencils
An early attempt at a picture of the bridge over the Grand Union Canal
At Old Wolverton, Milton Keynes.
This has been repeated since,
with the addition of another narrow boat moored on the left this side of the bridge
An other early picture trying out the use of indented line to score the paper to leave white lines for the veins in the leaves..
This was from a reference photo taken outside our home one Autumn
