‘Hard’ PASTELS ACRYLICS 2010/11 UP TO 2013 RECENT WORK CLOSE & CONTACT
The Acrylic Gouache paint dries to a velvet matte finish and can be painted on to a wide variety of surfaces. The next few pictures are all painted on wooden panels, and are displayed without frames, but with a backing board in a dark colour (usually dark blue), which carries the hanging wire.
This set of acrylic pictures were painted at varying times between 1995 and 1999.
The first was painted around 1996 from a colour slide taken on our honeymoon in Wicklow, Ireland in the 1960s.
The second is a scene on Mallorca looking down the lovely little harbour at Cala Figuera. In retrospect, it would have been better to have relocated the crane post a little further to the left, but the picture sold and I cannot now do anything about it !
The third picture is of a gateway in the local village of Tiffield near Towcester. The Old Rectory Garden has a walled section and the gateway is very inviting. The shadow to the right of the gateway needs some adjustment in colour (it is too grey) This will not be done now as a friend persuaded me to put her name on it and it is no longer in the Country. This last picture has now been repeated in Coloured Pencil
